Description
If you use the "CONTENT" TypoScript object, to retrieve records from the root-page - like "static_countries", etc. This is currently not possible.
There was already a fix by Oliver Hader making this partly possible. But there is still a restriction to table "pages".
Solution: Remove the restriction of the pid value to 0 for pages. Allow pid=0 for any table.

According to Steffen Kamper in the core list, this is already fixed in the latest versions.
