Hi, Ben.
To get rid of adjectives naming the state of an item, the rule we defined for the checkbox labels is:
Topic => Label => Action
or
Topic => Question => Answer
General Vsivibility => Link to top of page? => Activate!
This is due to the fact that the state differs and you never know if an activated checkbox resembles a positive or a negative state. So it is much better to use a verb describing the action.
We tried to follow this rule in almost any case. This is one of them.

As explained in jo's reply, no change is required.
We definitively need to add these "rules" somewhere in our core api documentation or somewhere more prominently so that other developers know about it. Will ask Francois about it.
