It's currently not possible to restrict access to certain files/assets.
TYPO3 CMS¶
In TYPO3 CMS file access can be controlled via the "File Mounts" options:
+ Easy to use
- Inflexible (only based on the file path, not type for example)

TODO: Ask Robert about the state of resource management & if permissions is already part of it / planned
Ideas:
- Assets can be bound to one or more AssetCollections
- AssetCollections can be restricted to roles/groups
